Photo: The Area Of The Puddle
On the area of the Puddle are a few attractions of old Dubrovnik. In the center of the square is Orlando's column, on top of which four centuries in a row wore a white flag of the Republic.
The Sponza Palace was built in the early sixteenth century in the late Gothic and early Renaissance. Once there was a custom house and the mint. Now here is the state archive. Note the graceful arcades and Gothic Windows with tracery carvings.
The Baroque Church of St Blaise dedicated to the patron Saint of Dubrovnik. In the chancel of the Church there is a silver statue of the Saint who holds the layout of the city.
Old town hall, built in neo-Gothic style, now houses the theatre, the city administration and cafes.
