The mausoleum was built and 1614-1633, by order of Emperor Ferdinand II as the burial place of his family members and himself. This is a wonderful example of the Austrian mannerism.

Narrow facade, decorated with numerous sculptures, consists of several levels, which creates extremely harmonious composition. The interior of the mausoleum is made von Erlach.
