Suna river flowing in the middle part of Karelia is the second longest (280 km) and the third in size of the catchment in the region. The river Suna takes from the small lake kivijärvi, located on the West Karelian upland. To O. Codosera within 30 km of the river is called sun, and after Suna. Almost a third of the length of the Suna river is a lake, and the rest of the observed rapid course, with rapids and waterfalls. More than 50, the biggest drop stands out on the stretch of river between 70-m and 30-m miles from lake kivijärvi, the mouth of the river. On this site there are 3 famous waterfalls: Girvas drop height - 14, 8 meters, Then-Org – 16, 8 meters and Kivach - 10, 7. However, in fact you can admire only the third waterfall, the first two because of water diversion on Kontopoulos HPP practically dried up. There is a project on the periodic revival of waterfalls to show the tourists.
