Busko-zdrój is a Spa town in Poland, situated in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship 50 km South of Kielce and 80 km North-East of Krakow. Lovely continental climate of the area is allowed to create in Busko-zdrój Spa resort, which deals with the treatment of cardiovascular, dermatological, rheumatic and neurological diseases.

The first mention of Busko-zdrój dates from the twelfth century, when these lands were settled by a group of shepherds. In 1180 knight Derevom here was based norbertine monastery. In 1251 king Boleslav V gave Busko-zdrój first privileges: approval has been given for the production of salt and the use of local mineral waters. In 1287 Busko-zdrój received city rights from Prince Leszek II the Black. The city was strategically positioned near trade routes, so the king Wladyslaw Jagiello granted to local merchants the right to a weekly market and two annual city fair. During the fifteenth and sixteenth century was the economic and social prosperity of the city. It is especially famous for the production of quality fabrics.

First medical sanatorium was opened in the town in 1828, and in 1836 the sanatorium "Marconi" was to take all comers. This year is the official date of opening of the Spa resort in Busko-zdrój. In 1966, the city won the title of most beautiful resort in Poland.

In addition to a large number of treatments, in the city you can enjoy outdoor activities and explore the monuments. The main attraction of the town is the parish Church of the Immaculate Conception, built in 1592. Also, in the center you can see the chapel of St. Anne and the synagogue, built in 1929.
