An impressive collection of the Museum will introduce you to the history, culture and traditions of Limerick. The Museum is run by Limericks city Council and available to everyone (the entrance to the Museum is free).

Liberecky the Museum was founded in 1906 and originally housed in the building where today is the City art gallery. During its more than century-old history, the Museum has repeatedly changed its location until it finally settled in the heart of Limerick, the so-called Royal island in the town Hall near popular attractions, such as king John's castle and the Cathedral of Saint virgin Mary. In 1992 Liberecky Museum received the first prize of the world famous Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

Excellent collection Limericks Museum is very extensive and varied, and perfectly illustrates the history of Limerick, covering a long period of time from prehistory to the present day.
