Old-Stepanova - architectural reserve, located a few dozen kilometers from severouralskogo the town of Lovech. This small village, which has retained its historic character almost unchanged.

About twenty years ago, this town was declared a nature reserve. There are about a hundred old houses that were built in the early 19th century. They are somewhat random because of the rugged landscape, the streets are tight and broken. Residents in the village a bit, there are no hotels and souvenir shops.

According to the historical information, Old-Stefanova was founded by the inhabitants of the nearby village, when he fled from the plague. They built homes that were predominantly two-storey, wood and stone. The first floor was occupied by shops, workshops, other public spaces, the second floor was used as living rooms. The house was traditionally surrounded by high stone walls. Monuments in Old-Stefanova 96 houses declared.

In the center of the village is the Church of the Nativity of the virgin, which is skillfully decorated iconostasis. The hand of the same master also belong to the painting of the facades of local buildings, plant motifs mostly. A characteristic feature of the houses are so-called "tickle" - the stone slabs that covered the roof.

In the Central square of the Old-Stefanovo is a small shop where you can buy food and some other goods. Here is a small tavern, the walls of which are painted in different phrases, is the handiwork of travellers and filmmakers, who are often in these parts, attracted by the authentic atmosphere of the Bulgarian Revival. Old-Stefanova often becomes the setting for historical films.
