Coast Camaya coast is a popular beach holiday destination and the name of a small town in the province of Bataan in the Philippine island of Luzon. It is located 7 km from special export zones Bataan. In 2010, a major developer "Earth and Shore Leisure Communities Corporation has invested 350 million pesos in the development of the resort area on the coast Kama.
The name of the coast comes from the Sanskrit word meaning "water breaking over the rocks or the sound of water crashing on the rocks". And in the Museum Batana there is evidence that the word "Kama" can also mean "the place where a flying mythical tikbalangs - centaur.
In 1573 on these shores landed about 3 thousand Chinese pirates, who then attempted to conquer Luzon, but lost and were forced to retreat. In 1858 the Spaniards Eduardo Perez and his stepson Francisco bien bought 200 acres the coast and called this area as "the possession of the vine." Later bien bought share your stepdad and turned the beach and surrounding land into a recreation area and place of production of dried fish. As the beach has become a particularly popular spot, bien tried to limit the access of tourists. But intervention from the provincial administration, and in 1908 the coast Kama was turned into a public beach.
Throughout the 20th century Camaya coast was a small working village. After the Second World war settled here American and Japanese veterans, remaining in the Philippines. But in the 21st century continue to come here as immigrants from Germany, Italy and France, who are doing business in growing mango trees.
Mile beach Camaya coast is very popular with tourists throughout the year. Its Northern side is evaluated at 4 points on a 10-point scale of danger, and the southern – 6 points due to strong reverse currents near the shore. The southern part is reserved for fans of skimboarding – a form of surfing. In season migrations in the waters surrounding the beach, you can see dolphins and turtles. In 1985 the beach got into the Guinness Book of Records – it hosted the world's largest photo session, which was attended by 825 girls in bikini. In 2008 Camaya coast was included in the list of National Heritage of the Philippines.
Every year the beach hosts many events – Festival of Surfers in August, ecological festival Pawikan in January, competition aquathlon in may, the world Day of Protection of Nature in June and Sand Sculpture Festival in November. Along the coast there are many cafés and restaurants and hotels offer rooms with wonderful sea views.
