The lázaro galdiano Museum is one of the most popular attractions in Madrid. The Museum is housed in the building of the Palace, built in the Italian style in the early 20th century and the former in the possession of the publisher Jose Lazaro Galdiano. He also owns a collection of ancient Church plate, cups of gold and silver, medieval enamels and other works of art. All this congregation, numbering about 13 thousand specimens, Galliano before his death in 1947 bequeathed to the government of Spain, and in his home on January 17, 1951 the Museum was opened, named after him.

Today, the Museum opens to us a door 37 rooms, which are exhibited Antiques, vintage household items, weapons, jewelry, sculptures, paintings.

The upper floor of the mansion occupies the hall, which exhibits a rich collection of antique daggers and swords, rare collection of Royal seals, crystal and jewelry.

The special value of the Museum is a unique collection of paintings belonging to different schools of painting. There is a hall dedicated to Spanish artists, where you can see works by El Greco, Velazquez, Zurbaran, Murillo and others. Of particular interest to visitors invariably causes the collection of works of Francisco Goya. There is a hall with works by British artists Gainsborough, Reynolds and Constable. Also visitors have the opportunity to get acquainted with the paintings of Italian and Flemish painting.

The variety and content of the exhibitions, the lázaro galdiano Museum is not inferior to such famous museums as the Prado or the Reina Sofia, but, unlike the latter, there is an atmosphere of coziness, relaxing peace and tranquility.
