Museum of science and industry, located in Manchester, tells the story of the development of science, industry and technology, with a focus on the role of Manchester.
Manchester has always been famous for the fact that it hosts the most advanced scientific research, carried out the most daring and innovative engineering and technological projects. The Museum was opened in 1969 as the North Western Museum of science and industry. In 1978 the city Council of Manchester purchased from British Railways old building Liverpool station for a nominal sum of one pound sterling. In 1983, the Museum moved into the station building.
The Museum consists of several sections on the history and development of aviation, Railways, computers, communications, etc.
