Monastery in honour of the Annunciation of the blessed virgin Mary in the Small village Lyady, Minsk region, was built in 1732. Originally it was built as a Catholic monastery. The initiator of the construction was made by Teresa Tyszkiewicz – wife of voivode of Minsk. This pious woman was seriously ill, asking for healing from Zhirovichi icon of Mother of God. A miracle happened, and the woman recovered. To celebrate, she gave a list of the miraculous icon Latinskom the temple. Miracles continued to occur from different cities started to pilgrims wishing to touch the Shrine. Then Teresa Tyszkiewicz persuaded her husband to donate to the Church and Basilian monastery a lot of money. In 1794, the monastery already owned extensive lands and a solid Treasury.

In 1837, in the monastery was quiet and unobtrusive reform. Gradually the Catholic monks joined to the Orthodox spiritual reading, mass replaced the Orthodox service, and then completely removed from the temple, the remnants of Catholicism in the form of the organ, pews and decorations interior. Why did the monks agreed to reform? They faced a difficult choice – to accept Orthodoxy or to leave the monastery. Of course, there were those for whom Catholicism was more satiated quiet of monastic life, but most of the monks did not want to leave their place.

After 1920 the monastery was abolished, and the Church is ruined. Only miraculous image left to hang on the wall. However, in the 1960-ies the icon mysteriously disappeared. First, the temple was used as a warehouse, and later abandoned altogether.

In 1992 the Church and monastery were given to the Orthodox Church. In the ancient monastery walls was re-opened Holy Annunciation Patriarchal monastery.
