The Church Of St. Stephen was built in the XI century and was originally consecrated in honor of the virgin. The temple is also called the New Metropolitan. From 1599 the temple is decorated with magnificent carved iconostasis. Well preserved to our day also the throne and the chair of the Bishop of the Bulgarian Renaissance. Ancient frescoes have been lost, existing murals date back to the XVI –XVIII centuries. Pictured here over a thousand different shapes, the center of which is the image of our lady.
