Historical Museum in the town of Bratsigovo started with a small exhibition in a local school, gradually the collection grew and many times changed the location. Finally, in 1988, the Museum acquired its own building.

Aware of the tragic history of the resistance of the Bulgarian people of Turkish subjugation, it is devoted to this topic the most interesting exhibits in the Museum of Bratsigovo. The centre of the exhibition are evidence of the preparation and development of the uprising of 1876 against the authority of the Turkish Sultan. Of particular interest is an improvised weapon made from cherry and tapered rods, these are used by the rebels during the fighting. The house of one of the Bulgarian revolutionary Vassil Petleshkov, who led the rebels by the townspeople, too, became a Museum. The exhibition opened at the house Popov in 1981, talks about the unique school of architecture, which originated in Bratsigovo in the XVIII century.. it Happened when Bratsigovo family moved workmen from the city Kotsur (RES. Macedonia). A rich photographic archive recounts the work of the first masters of Bratsigovo and their instruments.
