If you literally translate the word "cinema", it would mean "precious earth". Kinerma is a Karelian village, lost in the depths of Pryazha region. The village was founded over four hundred years ago, and annalistic data indicate that its appearance dates from 1563. A unique feature of Kinerma is that of 17 homes located on it, 10 of them are monuments of architecture. All the villagers are sure that the icon for such a long time protected the village from harm. The icon left the village in the 80-ies of the 20 century; it was moved to the Museum of fine arts, where she is now. The villagers say that after the icon has left this region, life here has become much worse. Then for the chapel decided to write an exact copy of the icon, which occupied a place of honor in the temple. It is important to note that in the chapel of Kinerma preserved some icons and carved iconostasis.

No less interesting is the legend of the spruce forest, located around the chapel. According to legend, in a time when the chapel was built, and around it planted 13 firs (the number of apostles). Watchman argue that if the tree falls it will happen something bad. This is exactly what happened when the accident occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. At the moment, the spruce has 10 trees.
