In 1861 at the corner of Cathedral street and alley Gymnasium (now the travel center), opposite the Park "Lipki" merchant P. F. tjul'pin built two-storey house and handed it to the Merchant club.
Merchant's club, founded in 1859, the first time only consisted of merchants, traders, and Industrialists, occupying temporary premises in the house of Hotovitskogo. The main facade of the building in three tiers were decorated with rows of fine.
