Historical and memorial Museum "Demidovs ' Necropolis" was opened to the public in the fall of 1996, the year of the 340-year anniversary since the birthday of Nikita Demidovich Demidova, who was the ancestor of the most famous names among Russian metallization.

The Museum complex starts from the monument to Nikita Demidov (sculptor – A. Cherepanov). The Museum is housed in a historic place – on the site of the former Armory of the settlement, near the Nicholas-Zaretsky Church with a bell tower, which was built at the expense of akinfiy Demidov in 1730s

The main attraction of the Museum complex is the Demidov family tomb, located in the Nicholas-Zaretsky Church, which is the only surviving Church with the burial of the first generation of the Demidov family who have long lived in Tula. As the burial place of Nikita Demidov in the 19th century was lost, at the present time on the territory of the Museum, the former cemetery of the parish of St. Nicholas-Zaretsky Church with a cross in honor of all buried in this place of Tula gunsmiths.

Museum "Demidovs ' Necropolis" conducts an active educational and outreach activities focusing on the younger generation. Pedagogical work conducted by Museum complex is available and appropriate to the age of the children is the Demidov's theme in children's environment, returning the name of the Demidovs society and freeing the history of their kind from abuse ideology of the last decades, raising children in the spirit of love for their homeland with examples of prominent people of the area. The Museum has won a grant from the Soros Foundation with the project "the Museum comes to school" in the category "Culture".

The birthday of Nikita Demidov, April 5, in the family vault Demidovs every year is celebrated during a memorial service held by Archpriest Gennady, Abbot Nicholas-Zaretsky Church.

Museum "Demidovs ' Necropolis" actively participates in events held by regional and municipal authorities. Each year the Museum participates in the competition "Regional regatta", which includes questions on business and philanthropy Demidovs. The Museum participates in the annual Demidov readings, which take place on the basis of engineering College. The Museum houses many items that are connected directly to Demidov. But most of the items in the 18th century was evacuated to the Urals or killed during the fire. The only source of income to the funds of the Museum – the archaeological site of Demidov facilities: churches, houses, factories. This work is carried out archaeological groups Tula archaeological expedition. According to the results of these works exhibited at venues interested in museums, including in the Demidovs 'Necropolis".

The Museum plans to useefficiency another Demidov in Tula necropolis – in Chulkovo at Christ Church. It is supposed to give the Statute a historical monument built at the expense of akinfiy Demidov Church, near the grave of his first wife, Eudoxia Korobkova. Also in the future it is planned to restore the interior of the Demidov family tomb – today these works are in the stage of development of the interior project by the Orthodox canons; to create and include in the tour route located in the bell tower of St. Nicholas Zaretsky exposure (1st floor).

In the summer of 1993 in the quarter, adjacent to the Museum "Demidovs ' Necropolis" from the South, was laid sign "Demidov Botanical garden" in honor of those Demidov, who left a mark in the development of landscape art, creating Botanical gardens in Russia.
