The natural reserve "Lake Lawler in the Italian region of Val d'aosta was created to protect a small lake, located at an altitude of 1175 meters above sea level and fed by three sources. Around the lake surrounded by extensive reed beds, mountain peaks and "smooth" hills of glacial origin – landscapes, consistently attracting tourists. The total area of the reserve is only 15 ha.
Lawler is famous for the abundance of plankton, the number of which can compete with it in only one of the Aosta valley lake Lauzon and fauna of special importance. There are also aquatic plants, like algae and pemphigus. Near the banks grows watch trojlistcowy, and along streams flowing into the lake, abundant yellow marsh marigold and river avens. On the drier Western slopes of the reserve can meet the plants-xerophilous Cossack juniper and flowering monetchaty sunflower, and extensive neglected fields – the main habitats of rare Pennsylvania cinquefoil.
On the rocky cliffs on the territory "of Lake Lawler" you can often see eagles, hawks-of goshawks and common Buzzards. Around the lake feed on water birds like wild ducks, which nest here, and moorhens. In the pond and around it are home to many amphibians and reptiles such as common toads and snakes. Water Lawler inhabited by line, invertebrates and countless insect species.
