Naschmarkt - the largest and most famous market in Vienna, located near the center between the districts of Mariahilf and vision. On the market are around 120 market stands and restaurants with Indian, Japanese, Vietnamese, Italian and Spanish cuisine. On Saturdays hosts the famous flea market, which is considered one of the best in Europe. Saturday flea market has existed since 1977.

The Naschmarkt has existed since the 16th century when they were selling mainly dairy products. Milk was brought in bottles and barrels made of ash, which was called "Ash". So the market has fixated "Asmart", which gradually evolved into the Naschmarkt. In 1793 from the square of Freyung on Naschmarkt was moved by the trade of fruits and vegetables. The size of the market has increased greatly after the river was cleaned under the earth.

Today in the market you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables from around the world, exotic herbs and spices, various cheeses, bakery products, seafood and fresh meat for every taste.

But apart from buying varied products on the market you can find a variety of tasty restaurants. The Tewa restaurant will appeal to adherents of a healthy lifestyle, because in the menu of this restaurant only serves organic products. Israeli and Oriental cuisine can be enjoyed at the Neni restaurant, which serves Lebanese tabbouleh salad and shakshouka. One of the best fish restaurants in the capital is also located here – Umar offers elegant dishes of the freshest fish and seafood. Not to mention the two institutions, which began a tradition to open restaurants on the Naschmarkt: Do-an and Deli first attracted young citizens on the territory of the market, conquered them not only delicious, but also playing at the weekend DJs.

Today, the Naschmarkt is a popular tourist destination, where people come to enjoy the atmosphere of the city and briefly feel like a local.
