Minato Mirai 21 district of Yokohama, which was built recently, and the construction of some of its buildings still in progress. Its name translates as "Port future 21 century", today it is the most modern part of the city, where are his business life and entertainment.
The project area was developed in the 60-ies of XX century. It is believed that major work on its construction was completed in 2000. The land on which is located the Minato Mirai, was reclaimed from the sea – in particular, for carrying out reclamation works used the rubble and other materials, which for many years lay on the site of buildings destroyed by the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923.
