Aachen theatre Photo: Aachen theatre

One of the well known theatres in Germany, Aachen is not only a place where you can listen to Opera or drama, but also attraction. The building was built in record time: only three years have passed since 1822, when the first draft theatre, until 1825, when the building was first sounded applause. From the earliest days of the theatre was considered home to the famous Aachen Symphony orchestra: here were the performances and balls, and charming music sounded perfect with the right design of the building.

During the Second world war, but rather in 1943, in the theater building was bombed. Needless to say that the theatre was almost completely destroyed. Immediately after the war began active reconstruction of the building on the surviving drawings. Outside the theatre was restored to its original form, but the interiors were designed in a more modern form.

The first premiere in the renovated theater Aachen took place on 3 December 1951, and it is very symbolic that the show, which began a new history, was elected Richard Wagner's Opera "the mastersingers of Nuremberg", which is considered one of the highest peaks of the composer. Since then, the theater had been repaired several times, but never closed, and within its walls many talented and famous people. Thus, among the conductors who worked in my time here, it is worth noting the Wolfgang Trommer, Felix Raabe, Yukio Kitahara.
