On-site Alatyr Central regional hospital is the Church of the Iveron Mother of God, built in 1846 with funds Specific Department. The Church building is a rectangle in shape, and topped with an onion dome and a small pair of turrets.
The construction of the Iveron Church was associated with the opening of the first female Alatyr school for peasant children, established in may 1845. After the revolution the Church was closed and the building was used for the needs of the hospital - the point of blood transfusion, x-ray room, the red area district hospital and utility room. In 2003 the building of the temple transfer Chuvash diocese and begin restoration work. In January 2005, the Church was re-consecrated by Metropolitan Barnabas.
In our days the restored Church of the Iveron icon of the Mother of God is an architectural monument of the nineteenth century and historical attraction of Alatyr. The temple is notable also serving with him as a priest - Orthodox Frenchman, who arrived in the Chuvash Republic for permanent residence.
