Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in the centre of Dobrich is not just a big beautiful temple, it is also the emblem of the city. The history of the Church began in 1856. Earlier (1783)) this was the site of another Church, consecrated in honor of the Holy Trinity. It was destroyed and in 1859 he built a new Basilica, the consecration of which took place two years later. However, due to the small size and the inability to accommodate a sufficient number of believers that building too, it was decided to demolish. The Foundation of the past, of the present Church was laid on June 29, 1905; the work continued until 1908. As the chief architect of the project was Petko of Momchilov from the city of Sofia. Funds for the construction of the Church were collected largely thanks to the numerous donations of residents. The consecration service was conducted by Metropolitan Simeon in 1912.

The Basilica is built in accordance with the traditions of the Bulgarian Church architecture is the temple of the cross-domed type, with three semi-cylindrical apse to chancel and narthex. At the main entrance porch is supported by four massive columns with a bell tower with a dome. Still two entrances to the temple are located on the sides – North and South.

The building is in the neo-Byzantine style of the Renaissance, widely spread in Bulgaria in the period after the Liberation. The walls of the Church built on the principle of "hidden row" – type of masonry in which alternate exposed and pushed back, hidden behind a layer of white plaster rows of bricks. The porch and Windows of the Basilica is richly decorated with decorative stone elements.

During the reign of Metropolitan Joseph's Basilica was painted. The frescoes are painted by a group of artists under the guidance of Professor N. Kojouharova. Carved iconostasis and Bishop's throne are talented masters of Ivan Kaseva: wooden objects decorated with elaborately carved floral ornaments, representatives of the animal world. Marble columns with capitals and the Holy see is the result of the works of H. Leontieva. Many in the Church interior and gilded.

In 1997, the building underwent extensive renovation work. Adjacent to the temple grounds, and the building is surrounded by a living wall of trees, shrubs, flower beds.
