The famous zoo Hyderabad Nehru is one of the most frequently visited places in this city. Named after the first Prime Minister of independent India, Jawaharlal Nehru Zoological Park was officially presented to the public in 1963. It is located on the territory of 150 hectares and is adjacent to a huge lake bicentennial Mir Alam Tank. The Park is a kind of buffer zone where for each individual animal created conditions that mimic its natural habitat. Only the Nehru zoo is home to about 250 species of animals, birds and reptiles, such as tigers, Asian lions, deer, kangaroos, antelopes, Panthers, pythons, Indian (spectacled) Cobra. All the animals are under constant supervision of caretakers.

At the zoo also has a "night lounge" where you can in action to see the nocturnal animals and birds, such as hedgehogs, Bengal cats, civets, Laurie, spotted owls, barn owls, bats.

Apart from constantly living on the territory of the zoo inhabitants, the lake Mir Alam Tank during migration is a favorite place for many migratory birds. Which in turn attracts ornithologists from all over the world. Given this, the management of the zoo was organized sightseeing and pleasure trips on the lake on boats and ferry.

Daily (except Monday, when the institution is closed) at the zoo you can participate in themed Safari, ride an elephant or go to the natural history Museum. The youngest visitors will have the opportunity to ride on a special train by the children's Park or to visit the section, where are the figures of dinosaurs.
