Kobrin Church of the assumption of the blessed virgin Mary was built in its final form of stone in 1843 by the architect Noskov for the money of the parishioners.
The temple was built in the classical style. Three-nave, rectangular in plan with a gable roof. With two towers on the facade. The side facades with rectangular Windows and pilasters in the wall.
The first wooden Church in Kobrin was built in 1513. Its construction was financed by Anna Kobrin-kostevych. Since then, the Church burned down several times and rebuilt. In 1851 the Church was consecrated by the Bishop of Vilna Vaclav Zulinski in honor of the assumption of the blessed virgin Mary. The construction of a new stone Church was approved in 1840. Construction lasted from 1841 to 1843.
During the great Patriotic war, the Church was not damaged and was closed for the congregation. In the years of Soviet power the Church was closed in 1962, however, it was demolished due to the fact that in 1864 visited Kobrin famous artist Napoleon Orda immortalized the temple in his paintings.
28 years the Church stood desolate and decayed. In 1990 it was returned to believers in their numerous requests. The reconstruction of the temple was carried out with funds raised by the parishioners and by the construction organizations of the city of Kobrin's "energy field".
Now the Church of the assumption of the blessed virgin Mary is the only active Catholic Church in Kobrin. The Church is the Shrine of the miraculous image of the Savior. Near the Church is the cemetery where 13 September 2008 held a reburial of Polish soldiers who died in 1939.
