One of the most beautiful Bohemian cities Benesov nad Ploucnici is located 22 km from the capital of the Usti region. He appeared on the banks of the river Ploucnici around the fortress 1450. In those dark times, merchants and artisans, peasants and moneylenders tended to settle near large and powerful citadels, garrisons which could provide their wards at least some guarantee of a quiet life.

In our days in search of the castle you need to go to the Central square of the city called Benes square. The same focus and the other main attractions in Benesov nad Ploucnici.

Size Benes is a large open space with a constant Marian column in the center. It is set by tradition from the years when the plague had passed and residents could breathe easy. It is installed near the town Hall, built in the XIX century, where it still sits to the city Council.

On the East side of the square is the building in which previously worked the beer factory. Now it is closed. Next to it you can see the old house, dated to the year 1543. This date can be seen on the facade of the building. There are also the name of its architect and Builder – Valtin Hirsch von Tannenberg. Not so long ago in this building housed the administration of the brewery.

The main temple of the city is not in the center, and on a small hill on the outskirts of the city. It, however, is clearly visible from any point in benešov nad Ploucnici. The Church of the Nativity of the virgin Mary was built in 1480, is therefore almost the same age as the fortress, which was the forerunner of the present castle. Inside the Church you can see the chapel where the resting place of the most famous and rich citizens equipped with stoves, made in the Renaissance style.
