The toy Museum in the city of Tartu is one of the most interesting and exciting places to visit with children and adults. In the early nineteenth century in the Museum building housed the school of the County of Tartu, where he studied mostly the children of artisans. In 1994, the authorities of Tartu decided to post here the toy Museum. In 2002-2003, the room was completely renovated and, importantly, restored to its original appearance, characteristic of the nineteenth century.
Tartu toy Museum was opened in may 1994. In 2004, the Museum was located in the old town of Tartu on the street Luts-8. The Museum complex consists of four buildings of XVIII-XIX centuries, of which the Luts-2 and Loutsa-8 (built in the early 1770-ies) are one of the oldest surviving wooden buildings in Tartu. The Museum's collection of toys is quite extensive. It consists of more than 6,000 toys and dolls. Toys are presented in a traditional Estonian folk style.
