The Church Of St. George is a small, but impressive – located in the centre of Dobrich, close to the city's ethnographic Museum, the right of the building is a monument to Vasil Levski. Full name is the Church of St. George the great Martyr.
St. George Church is the oldest Church in the town of Dobrich. In the 19th century it was built on the donations of the residents of the city and its environs. Also raised funds for the creation of the altar, authored by Ivan Hadjimarkos. The construction was completed in 1843, but in the fifties during the Crimean war, the Church was burned. After the war began the restoration, which ended in 1864. The temple porch was built in the later period. Icons of the Church were created by painters Cosmo Berenbeim from the Macedonian Galichnik, Nicholas Vasilieva from Shoumen and Nedko a Teodorovici of Zheravna. Art paintings of the temple was completed in 1889, after which he was consecrated by Metropolitan Simeon. Data about when the tower was built, has not survived. The Church has undergone several restorations for many years, recent work was carried out in 2000, when they were restored four icons.
