King Saint Stephen established the episcopate in PECs in 1009. Perhaps, in choosing the place played the factor that here stood the old Church, consecrated by the Bishop of Salzburg around 870 year. However, in the 11th century, the Church was burned, and on this spot was built a three-aisled Basilica in the Romanesque style with two towers. A century later the Cathedral was built new buildings, and thus the formation of a complex of buildings representing the Bishop's Palace.

The history of the Palace dates back to the 12th century. His first "guest" was a Frankish Bishop Bonepart, the second was a Hungarian Mor. In the 15th and 16th centuries, the Palace was rebuilt in the Renaissance style, and the Bishop györgy, Klimo completely changed its look in 1751-1770 years. In the Northern and Eastern wings appeared on the second floor and the South wing was extended. The façade was rebuilt in Baroque single style. Between 1838 and 1852 for years was restored Eastern facade in the spirit of the Renaissance. The facade facing the Piazza Duomo, adorned with power ledges and wooden columns. Between the two gates sits a balcony with a balustrade.

The Bishop's Palace is open for visitors only during the summer months every Thursday. You can visit the foyer, waiting room, private chapel, library, cafeteria, conference hall and room of the Habsburgs. I can add description
