Zoo printing has a unique history. On the wall next to the Windows of banks informs the commemorative plaque: "Built by workers of pécs in 1960-61, within 45 367 working hours, free of charge".

The opening of the zoo took place on 19 August 1960, but the improvement is still continuing. On the area of 4 hectares, the zoo is currently represented by about 400 70 species of animals from five continents.

Since 1974 the zoo for educational purposes organizes summer camps for children. The zoo is open all year round, during the year, regardless of season, the zoo held a variety of recreational activities, which allows to attract to the Park around 120,000 visitors annually.
