The Pantheon of Georgi Stoykov Rakovski is located in the Bulgarian town of Kotel and is subject to the Historical Museum. The Pantheon and the exhibition "Figures of the Bulgarian Revival from Kotel" was opened in 1981 in celebration of 1300 years from the date of education of Bulgaria.
The Pantheon is dedicated to George Stoykova Rakowski, also known under the name of Georgi Sava Rakovski. He was born in 1821 and was a prominent figure of the Bulgarian Renaissance, a revolutionary. In addition, Rakovsky was a prominent journalist, writer, ethnographer, historian and Democrat. It marked the beginning of an organized struggle for national freedom of the Bulgarian people from the Ottoman yoke. Died Rakovsky in 1867.
