The Mack brewery in tromsø is the northernmost brewery in the world. Ludwig Mack founded his family business in the fall of 1877. Like his father, he was educated as a Baker and confectioner. At the age of 35, Ludwig founded the brewery, the construction of which cost him major money – 72 000 CZK, which was a very bold project. However, Ludwig was confident of success, and I was right: soon, the brewery became the largest industrial enterprise in the city.

During the first few years, the brewery did not even own a retail outlet products are distributed through intermediaries. Ludwig managed to open flagship store Mac only in the 1890s, After some time, the name of the poppy became known almost all over the country.
April 9, 1939, a large part of the plant was destroyed by fire that led to the fall speed of production. After some time, the buildings were rebuilt, was made complex modernization and reconstruction, resulting in the production of beer increased again.
