Beautiful small Holy cross Church is located on the territory of the Cadet corps. The history of the Foundation of the old Church at educational institutions of Volsk begins with the late nineteenth century, when the city opened a military school. The building of the Cadet corps was built in 1859, and a complete course of military primary schools included subjects such as the Law of God and old Church Slavonic orthography. In 1870, when the military school was built a small wooden Church and consecrated in honor of the Exaltation of the Holy cross Episcopal rank. In 1872, at the Church of the Brotherhood was formed for the purpose of "exaltation of morality cadets and the teaching of the truths of Orthodoxy. The fellowship contributed to the education of children from low-income families and assistance to the needy. For a short time was gathered Church library, in 1912, with more than 660 volumes.

In 1918 military school and the Church were abolished, and the property was divided between Annunciation Church and village temples Volsky district. Later the Church when the Cadet corps was destroyed.

In December 2005, was consecrated the new building of Holy cross Church with a bell tower at wolska Military school, on the territory of the branch of Military Academy of logistics and transport. The throne of the newly built temple in honor of the Holy cross was consecrated by the Bishop Saratov and Volsky Longinus.
