Bullfighting is one of the major national entertainment Spain. Presumably the history of bullfighting goes back to the bronze age, when the bull was considered a sacred animal, and his murder was a sacred ritual. After a period of Reconquista bullfighting was a pastime of the nobility, where rival bull was made a knight on horseback. The birthplace walking, well-known and popular now, bullfighting was Andalucia. It is not surprising that in Cordoba – one of the most important cities of the region, opened a Museum dedicated to this beautiful and dangerous art.
Municipal bullfighting Museum is located in Cordova square Maimonides. In 1954 in Cordoba was created by the Museo Municipal de Artes Cordobesas y Artes" consisting of pieces of handicraft arts. A small exhibition in the Museum was devoted to the history of bullfighting córdoba. In 1983 she formed the basis of a public Municipal Museum of bullfighting. Museum dedicated mainly to the life, history and victories of the famous bullfighters of Cordoba. In the collections of the Museum suits, embroidered capes and personal belongings of the matadors, ads and Billboard committed fights, paintings, sculptures and photographs dedicated to the bullfight. A separate exposition is devoted to the most famous Matador Cordoba – Manolete. This Torero, throughout his career, showing a surprisingly bright and great fights, aged 30 years, was defeated not impressed by him the bull. Among the exhibits kept his blood-stained uniforms and shoes of killed his bull.
